The Bicoca portable lamp, designed by Christophe Mathieu for Marset, has been selected by Metropolis magazine to receive a #MetropolisLikes award during NYCxDESIGN 2017. Marset introduced Bicoca in Milan at Euroluce 2017 this past April.
About the #MetropolisLikes Award
Each year, Metropolis editors seek out the top designs that they really Like, in a viral awards program known as #MetropolisLikes. #MetropolisLikes NYCxDESIGN is announced live via Metropolismag.com, Twitter, and Instagram, to a combined audience of 200,000 followers. Images of the winning product designs, product names, and short descriptions are included in the announcements. Metropolis followers are also invited to visit exhibition spaces and booths of winners. Winning entries also receive a custom-designed award, delivered at NYCxDESIGN 2017.
Designer Christophe Mathieu injected a healthy amount of character into the Bicoca. The small table lamp is born with the optimism of brightening life and accompanying the good times, wherever you go. Made of polycarbonate, Bicoca begins with an overlay of basic geometric figures and features a tiltable shade to direct the light.
